Catching Fire

Katniss Everdeen, the girl on fire; or is she? Yes I would read another book with these characters because I love the chemistry they have, and how they’ve evolved together. Peeta, Haymitch, and Katniss have been through their own kind of hell, and they experienced it with one another. If they can work as one, and grow the way they already have with each other, I think it would be really interesting to read about them in a different kind of book. Maybe a book written by Nicholas Sparks, something completely opposite of Catching Fire. Seeing how Peeta and Katniss would react with each other while they didn’t have to compete with one another for survival would be engaging. However, I think if they were in a different book, it would have to be a series. I’ve grown to be very fond of these two, and even Haymitch. I could not just read one book about them. No matter how boring it may be. A new environment may clash for these three I’d like to know how they would overcome a new situation. Living in a carefree world, like today would be such a contrast compared to Panem. From how Katniss acts in the book, I don’t really believe she would be able to adjust to living in the now. However, I think Peeta and Haymitch would struggle, but work through it. They’re both very good at knowing when they have to act like everything is okay. Also, in a book from Nicholas Sparks, it’s usually about love, and even though there is quite the love story in Catching Fire the obstacles they have been through and continue to face are no where near anything from The Notebook or The Lucky One. In those kind of books, two people fall madly in love and have some sort of problem to overcome. Where in Catching Fire Katniss doesn’t know her true feelings for Peeta, and they’re forced to be together every hour of the day. They also had to fight against each other, to kill, so they could live. The extremes are much different in these two types of books, and that’s why I think it would be intriguing to read them in a different setting, plot, theme, book.
